Honorable CM Mr. Akhilesh Yadav using EyeRIS®

The latest edition of Guinness World Records awards the title to the City Montessori School (CMS) in Lucknow with 39,437 registered pupils in the 2010-2011 academic year. The school says that enrollment numbers have already risen above 45,000, with 2,500 teachers, 3,700 computers,1,000 classrooms – and one of the hardest first-eleven cricket teams to break into.

In Phase – 1, the school decided to go for 50 classrooms to integrate with digital learning tool of CYBERNETYX®. With excellent feedback from teachers & understanding the real benefits of adopting ICTin Education, the school decided to integrate another 200 classrooms this year. The Phase – 2 of integration was much bigger in scale & integration project included several CYBERNETYX® products like EyeRIS®, UNIBOARD (All-inoneintegrated cabinet solution), EyeSIGHT(classroom camera solution), OptiMark (Student evaluation system) & IntelliSpace (Multitouch Interactive software suite). Presently, there are 250 Classrooms across all CMS branches are powered by CYBERNETYX® solutions & technology. “These solutions will help students acquire skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge based economy” added President and Chief Operating Officer of CMS, Prof. Geeta Kingdon.

Neoteric Infomatique, one of India’s leading national IT distributors & technology solution providers, took the responsibility of project delivery, logistics, after sales service (with the help of ASP) & maintenance for CMS Digital Classroom Integration Project.

It’s now clearly visible that education and technology links are warming up and are being rapidly backed by best academicians and top IT professionals.

In CMS they believe that “Change is must. From ‘best’ practice within the system to ‘next’ practice that questions the system itself, there is much scope of growth”. What could ’next’ practice in education be? This time the ‘next’ practice was bringing most advanced technological tools in the classroom. To achieve this change CMS started its extensive search in the market approximately two years ago.

President and Chief Operating Officer of CMS, Prof Geeta Kingdon said “What we were looking for was a single integrated product including Interactive Whiteboard, Document Camera Solution, Student Evaluation system, student response system, content gateway etc. which in turn would optimize our investments”.

According to CMS best way of rectifying shortfalls is to have a ‘Hybrid Solution’ which is a combination of a physical whiteboard and a portable solution with advantages of both and disadvantages of none. EyeRIS® almost revolutionized the teaching learning experience at CMS Campus with its intuitive Teaching Software IntelliSpace having features like gesture and handwriting recognition, feather-smooth writing experience with real time response, super-compressed classroom lecture recording. Teaching staffs of CMS were overwhelmed with ‘MyCloud™’ feature which gave teachers access to classroom content free of cost on almost any topic.

CYBERNETYX® trainers did a hands-on training, review and certified the teachers upon successful completion of the training program. Without a second thought solution provided by CYBERNETYX® perfectly fitted into the CMS idea of Interactive digital classrooms. Using the most relevant digital content from resource library provided by CYBERNETYX® (based on Indian curriculum), teachers could deliver their best without wasting much of their time in drawing tedious diagrams.

“We are absolutely satisfied with the way CYBERNETYX® team through its authorized partners have handled this digital classroom integration project. The service responsiveness & professionalism were extremely high. The systematic approach towards addressing this time-bound large integration project was really praise worthy. All our teachers are happy & satisfied with CYBERNETYX® Interactive Solutions” added Mr. Varghese Kurian, ICFF Festival Director & Head CMS Films & Radio Division, City Montessori School, Lucknow.

Mr.Ramya Chatterjee, Director (Sales and Marketing), CYBERNETYX® opined that “the Interactive whiteboard of tomorrow would be an integrated product, which will play multiple roles by utilizing the power of its software”. While sharing the new innovations in Interactive classroom technologies for education, he also added that “the next generation interactive whiteboard is evolving beyond the traditional roles of a pen-shaped click-mouse. Today it is acting as a content gateway, a document camera, an evaluation system, a student response system and even as a host PC in the classroom. Educational institutes have always valued optimizing their investments. They appreciate the fact that spending money at all these devices separately and then struggling to make them work in unison does not work out so well in the end. The interactive whiteboard of tomorrow would be a single product, which will play all these roles in itself utilizing the power of its powerful software, with no incremental purchases to be made by the client, thus exponentially increasing the client satisfaction & user experience”.
